Tunisian Olive-Growing Surface

Firmly rooted in the past, Tunisian olive oil continues to occupy a prominent place in the country's culture and economy. In fact, it takes up an average of 40% of total argricultural export and 5% of total exports.

Today, olive groves cover 1.6 million hectares that represents a third of arable surfaces and comprise over 56 million trees covering the entire country, from the far north to the deepest south. Compared with a leading producing countries, this surface placed Tunisia in the second rank following Spain with nearly 19% of worldwide olive-growing surface.
